Jake and the Neverland Pirates Party

jake cupcakes
We have a 4-year-old girl who loves and is obsessed with “Jake and the Neverland Pirates”. She went as Izzie for Halloween last October.

Izzy for Halloween

So we knew early on that she wanted a JNP party. We went with a pool party since her birthday is in July. This went well with the JNP theme. As far as planning went, it was easy but had some obstacles. It was 90 degrees out, so we had to be cautious of what we served. (Chocolate, ice cream, cheese, frosting – all melt or go bad.)

We put the cheese out right before eating to try to keep it fresh since we couldn’t keep it on ice.

Printables on ETSY.

I put a full size print out of different characters on each bottle of different drinks. Sea Water Punch for Blue Gatorade.

Notice Jake is already wet from the condensation on the gallon of tea. Sweet of course.

This is a great way to cover up ugly containers, 2-liters, etc.  View our way that we decorated our cups here.

Jake and neverland treat bags

Items in our treat favor bags are listed in our DIY. “Thanks Matey!” printout was also from How to Nest for Less.

Pirate Party DIY cups

Themed party cups are not cheap. You can get a pack of 8 for $1.50 or more. When you have a party of 40 guests or more, the cost can add up. I bought a pack of clear plastic cups from Target and a pack of Jake and the Neverland Pirates (the birthday girl’s theme) stickers for half the price and still have extra cups.

You can even get the children involved by placing the stickers on the cups, OR better yet take the cups and stickers to the party and let the party goers make their own cup!

So easy, fast and a great way to pull your theme into your tableware.  Works on paper cups as well. When using on plastic cups, make sure to smooth the stickers down all the way and stack the cups inside each other.

Also, view how to sticker bubbles and tie into your theme as well:

The best advice I can give when planning parties: Plan the theme well ahead of time. We knew that a certain soon to be 4-year-old would be having a Jake and the Neverland Pirates party after she went as Izzie for Halloween. Her party is in July, so we had 9 months to plan this one out. It really is going to be an easy planning party because her theme is Pirate and birthday is in July, so we went with a pool party. Around Valentine’s Day, Target offered Pirate themed giveaways. We got a pack of notepads, a pack of erasers and a box of bubbles all in the pirate theme for 70% off the original price. Great find indeed. photo 2-4

Also came across pirate Spritz brand hats on clearance for 76 cents each. We got enough for all the babies and boys at the party. Came across a bag of Buccaneer Brawlers. They’re like army men figures, but pirate form. They were on sale at Dollar General. Amazon has these. Hobby Lobby has a small collection of pirate party treat bag stuffers. We picked up some gold coins of 72 pieces to represent gold doubloons. They have treasure maps, eye patches, rings, etc.

Girly Pirate Party

Who says Pirates are for boys?
You can turn any boy theme into a pretty girl party! It might take you awhile to dig around finding the right décor to match your theme and stay in your color story, but don’t give up! Help from Hobby Lobby, Amazon and Etsy is where I found most of my treasures. Found all my cute printable’s from on Etsy!
Tip:  if you find a printable you like but not the color or vision you have in mind message the designer your ideas and usually 100% of the time they can customize it for you!
